It was the hubby who proposed that we set-up the Monopoly Jr. board, and designate a night each week to play an ongoing game. That was back in July. It never happened. Then after Christmas, I was stuffing my daughter's new toys into her overcrowded playroom, and noticed several UNopened games. I vowed then and there to participate in game night, starting with our unused games. Either that, or re-gift them at upcoming birthday parties.
I'm happy to report that we finally initiated game night last week. I'm even happier to report that I won, and therefore get to choose the game we play tonight. Woo-hoo! Happy dance (hey, I don't have to pretend to be a good sport when my kid isn't looking)!
Check out the article below on starting your own Family Game Night. I especially like the suggestions on how to make the night "eagerly anticipated, not an obligatory activity."
