Ok, so that post I wrote on Saturday, the one where I'm rambling discussing what I'm thankful for - that was not at all what I had intended. The post was actually supposed to be a quick suggestion, something I came across that I thought was a grand idea. And, as usual, I wanted to share it with my grand readers. On Thanksgiving, ask your guests to bring blankets, socks, toothbrushes, toiletries and nonperishable food. Get the kids involved and have them organize the donations into bags. Then as a family, deliver your donations to your local shelter the next day.
What the heck, go all out and make this part of your annual tradition.
This will be a lot cheaper, and easier on your feet, than getting caught in the whirlwind of Black Friday. And I bet your spirit will feel a lot brighter too.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!

That's a great idea. What a great way to help reinforce that we all have so much to be truly thankful for.
