You know me so well by now. You know I love cookies. You also know that I'm on the hunt for healthier snacks for kids of the world. So, what if I were to tell you that I found a sweet treat for all my food-sensitivity little friends?
Introducing:
Cookies...for me? Yes, darling, for YOU. Gluten free, egg free, dairy free, and nut free, so that "anyone that might have these sensitivities, feel special and know that they can get delicious bakery cookies like anyone else."
Cookies...for me? sent us an assorted box of cookies to sample. Did I mention that this is my favorite part of doing blog reviews? Ha! My daughter took it very seriously, and with pen and paper in hand, she taste-tested every cookie in the generous box. Or maybe pretending to be an official taste-tester was just her clever way of getting permission to eat a bunch of cookies. In any event, here are our results (she managed to let me taste some too): the brownies were good and my daughter's favorite, nice and chocolately. We weren't big fans of the chocolate chip or the ginger spice. Maybe those need some dairy to taste like what we're accustomed to. The sugar cookies were tasty, and beautifully decorated. My definite favorite of the bunch was the black and white cookie, with a nice lemon taste.

The mama behind the business: Chef Jamie. She has an endearing story of why she started the gluten-free cookie company, and how she came up with the cute name.
"When (my son) Matthew was 9 months old he went into anaphylactic shock. Within the coming week we were at a top hospital where we were told Matthew was not only anaphylactic to peanuts and eggs but also severely allergic to wheat, barley, rice, peas, oats and a slew of other things. Our life was turned upside down...by the time our baby was 2 years old he was considered "failure to thrive." He was afraid to try new foods let alone eat any foods he knew. It was around this time that if we offered Matthew a Jr. Mint or a little treat he would always ask "for me?" We thought it was really cute because he knew to ask and make sure the food would not hurt him...at age 3 and still not on the charts we were searching for any doctor who could help us figure out what might be going on. Finally, an answer - Celiac. So, now we eliminate gluten again and within 3 weeks Matthew was gaining weight. Unbelievable, a miracle! He looked great, cheeks filling out, he was happy and filled with energy and his eczema was clearing up. Life is good!...Why shouldn't I be able to go to a store, any store, to get delicious gluten, egg and nut free cookies for my son? Many batches and tastings of cookies later my concept was real and tangible. Cookies...FOR ME? is born!"
Does it surprise any of us that a mom will do absolutely anything for her child, and once she has success, she'll share it with other moms? Makes me so proud to be a part of this thing called mommyhood! And here's your chance to be a part of this thing called a giveaway on Playground for Parents!

My boys will be so excited!!! My oldest is allergic to wheat, corn, dairy and can't have too much sugar. My youngest is allergic to gluten, soy, and artificial colors. My youngest hasn't been tested yet, but I am fairly certain we will find out he is a Celiac. His reaction to gluten is so intense!
There is a store in Woodland Hills, CA that carries all gluten free dinners and treats. However with their varying allergies it is rare to find something that both kids can eat. They will be so excited to find another company that makes treats that they both can eat.

Oh this is wonderful! Little Miss is dairy free and hasn't had a cookie since we took her off dairy. This would be such a wonderful treat for her... and I can't figure out which one to go for. Maybe chocolate chip since she misses her chocolate so much?
