Look who decided to join the back to school party! And they aren't bringing any gluten, sugar, or artificial junk with them. That's just how we like our guests - all natural, with a little bit of funky attitude, baby.

I was sent all the Funky Monkey flavors to review: Bananamon (banana and cinnamon), Carnaval Mix (my personal favorite mix of banana, pineapple, apple, papaya and raisins), Jivealime (pineapple with lime juice), and Purple Funk (banana and acai). I'm not normally a freeze-dried fruit kind of girl. The texture is usually weird. The aftertaste is typically odd. I usually prefer the kind of fruit that's...chocolate covered. But, I was pleasantly surprised by the Funky Monkey bunch. It was the crunch that got me. I was smacking away on those tasty pieces of freeze-dried pineapple, as if I were eating chips. And I didn't have to feel guilty about eating two bags in one sitting (although I did feel guilty about not sharing). Afterall, I was getting my daily serving of fruit. This time, without the added chocolate.
Each ounce of Funky Monkey Snacks "contains THREE servings of real fruit, no added sugar or sweeteners, no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives." They are all 100% natural, and three of the flavors are certified organic. How does Funky Monkey get their freeze-dried fruit so crunchy and packed with flavor, compared to others? We love the monkey and my niece would love to try the Purple Funk snacks from Funky Monkey. I love that they only have 120 calories per serving and 3 servings of fruit.Wow these would be a terrific snack for my Daycare kiddos.. Their parents would love that they are having something healthy.

My niece is here and all excited about going back to school. They don't go back until Sept 9th. She loves packing her lunch has her new lunch box already.. These Funky Monkey Snacks would be great for her to include in her lunch.
