Introducing: North Star Toys. Beautiful. Fun. High quality. Everything you'd want in a well-made toy for your precious little one - and in my case with an 11 month old, a toy that's going directly into their mouth.
North Star Toys is a family owned and operated business that makes non-toxic wooden toys at reasonable prices. You gotta love that they are also a green business, whose dedication to the environment even extends to the electricity used in their shop - 100% of their shop's electricity comes from wind or solar energy - how cool is that?!
North Star Toys sent my Munchkin their fabulous Busy Boat (pictured here), filled with colorful rainbow people that she plays with in and out of the tub. I'm completely comfortable knowing that North Star Toys is CPSIA compliant, and the rainbow people have passed the choke tube test for little objects. We also received their wondeful Paddle Wheel Boat, which really moves! The Paddle Wheel Boat is powered by a heavy rubber band, and travels the length of the tub on one wind up. Munchkin is just mesmerized. And proceeds to drench me in water when she splashes excitedly.
My favorite items in their collection include the adorable camera, the horse and cart, and the walking puppy. They would make wonderful gifts for a baby shower or first birthday, a gift that will outlast all the trendy and plastic toys on the shelves.
What makes their wooden toys so gorgeous? "Walnut, oak, alder and other fine woods are handcrafted into smooth, durable designs and rubbed with a non-toxic oil to allow the natural beauty to shine. Recycled materials are used whenever possible and top priority is given to environmental sustainability. At North Star Toys we believe that conscious parenting is one of the most wonderful and challenging responsibilities on the planet. It is our hope to support this important endeavor by offering simple toys that stimulate creative, imaginative play. We truly care about the toys we make and hope that they add to the nurturing experiences of childhood. Children deserve beautiful, functional toys. Our business is to provide you with them and follow up with responsive service. We hope our toys reflect a personal warmth and bring pleasure to you and your family."
North Star Toys has been in the business of exceptional toy-making for 30 years, and is celebrating their anniversary! Such a tremendous accomplishment, and one lucky reader gets to join the anniversary celebration by winning a free toy!
