Tasty Tuesday is back! Although you probably won't read this until Wednesday because I'm posting it so late. It's been a long day, and I had to take a long nap at the end of it. But, once you taste this little delight, I think you'll forgive me.
I swear that it's just a coincidence that this recipe for Bananas Foster, and the recipe I posted on Fluff Dip, contain alcohol. I don't even drink! Afterall, I'm nursing, and that's against the rules (have they changed that rule yet?!). Promise that something appropriate for the kiddies will be posted in the future. In the meantime, they can share in the vanilla ice cream too - just throw out some sprinkles and chocolate sauce for them, and leave the good stuff below for the grown folks. I don't even like bananas unless they are mashed up and invisible, like in banana bread. But, I could eat this Bananas Foster by the pint. And I think I have. So there. This is perfect for a casual gathering, or an elegant setting - seriously, just change the type of dish you serve it in. Either way, folks will be raving.
It's another SUPER easy recipe, as in make it in minutes. Because that's all I'm interested in attempting to cook. Life's too short to be in the kitchen. And food is too good to wait.
BANANAS FOSTER
(serves 4 - unless I'm eating it, then it serves 2)
INGREDIENTS:
2/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
3 1/2 tablespoons rum
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 fresh bananas: peeled and diced
1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 pint vanilla ice cream
WHAT TO DO:
1. Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat
2. Stir in sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and rum.
3. When above mixture begins boiling, put in bananas and walnuts.
4. Cook 1 to 2 minutes, until bananas are hot.
5. Scoop over vanilla ice cream, and imagine you've gone to heaven.

Neat Bananas Foster recipe, ... you're like me, I'd rather not see the banana as in having it in cake or a banana bread rather, even though a banana split is lovely now and then
