Have you noticed a birthday theme with my posts recently? Guess there was an unconscious reason for that, because...Today is my birthday! Woo-hoo! And I'm celebrating with a gift for one of YOU! Motherhood is, without exception, the single most exhilarating, mind-blowing, challenging, hysterically funny, infinitely rewarding experience of my life. The memories of my pre-baby days are becoming more and more faint (well, except for the couple of times in college when... Wouldn't you like to know). The husband and wife team of Sjengraving, Joanne and Tony Cheng, custom engrave natural rocks, glass and wood, in their home-based workshop. I just have the cutest vision of these two working side-by-side on their delicate works of art. Ahhhh! When I received the Mom and Baby Pendant, even the small tan gift box tied with raffia, represented a gift that was natural, earthy, symbolic, and actually soothing. The footprints of mom and baby are deeply carved on a smooth gray beach pebble from California. The pendant has a sterling silver plated bail, with an 18" long black velvet cord. It's a special, unique piece, symbolic of my most treasured relationship. The pendant is casual enough for me to wear anytime, and the solid neutral color allows me to wear it with anything.
